The Gangaur festival continues for 18 days and starts from the next day of Holi or the first day of Chaitra. Buying the seeds of barley in it and from the Holi Fire the Gngaur festival starts with the custom of gathering ashes. Watered everyday awaiting the germination is the seeds after it. Women and girls fast for the full period of the 18 days and a day eat only one meal.
