Tourist Places to visit Mount Abu

Dilwara Temple
Built in 11th and 13th century, these pretty carved temples and this temple is dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras. There are two statues called Jethani’s and Devrani’s goklas respectively outside the main doors of this temple. There are backed by stories of two wives competitive jealousy of these brothers. The Vimal Vasahi is also known to be the first Jain temple which temple is older and is dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara. The temple is constructed in pure marble with plain exteriors which is built by Bhim Deva in 1031 who was the first Solanki ruler of Gujarat. ‘Tejpal Temple’ is dedicated to Neminath (the 22nd Tirthankar) and the temple was built by the brothers of Vastupal and Tejpal in 1230. The marbles becomes almost transparent in places that the carving is so fine.

Nakki Lake
This picturesquely of a tiny lake set amid hills. Approachable by boats the Lake is dotted with is several islets. Around the lake of strange rock formation are of particular interests and it’s a big attraction for the tourist. From the legend, the lake takes its names that it was scooped out by a god using only his nails. Around the lake it’s a pleasant stroll. There is a dilapidated concrete boat shaped snack bar on the lake. Nakki Lake was made by deities by using nails or nakh’s on per legends.

Sunrise Palace
The Maharajas summer Palace is situated on one of the highest points in Mount Abu. Aravallis surrounding it now, it’s known as Sunrise Palace gives a scenic majestic view of lush green. When Spectacular sight of the setting sun, the place is look marvelous; from here when the hills are covered in the golden glow can be viewed.

Achalgarh Fort
From its chauhan rulers who conquered Mount Abu this fort was built by the warrior king Rana Kumbha. Nearby there are several ancient temples Achalgarh fort lies 5 miles from Mount Abu. The famous temple is Lord Shiva temple. There is a sculptured Nandi’s image in the center of Achaleshwar Mahadev which is made of gold, brass, bronze, copper & zinc are 5 meats. This was built under the reign of the Paramara dynasty which is situated at a distance of 11km from Mount Abu.

Kesar Bhawan Palace
More than a century old is Palace of Kesar Bhawan. This Palace was constructed by Maharaja Daivat Singh Sirohi in the 1868 year. A descendant of Maharaho Lumbha is Maharaja Daivat Singh who is believed to have conquered Mount Abu in 1311 AD. The palace still stands as a very remarkable structure and is admired by the onlookers after the passage of 100 years in Rajasthan, India.

Vimala Vasahi Temple
An ancient Jain Temple is Vimala Vashi Temple which is located in Dilwara. From Mount Abu a drive for just 2.5 km would lead you to this temple. It is of great importance for the Jains which is also popular for the other Jain Pilgrimage sites such Dilwara Temple. This Jain temple has been dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara named Adinath. Vimala Vasahi Temple is encircled by enormous smaller cells and is located in an open courtyard. Over here you shall be able to see image of numerous smaller.
This temple is dedicated to Adinath which is constructed by Vimal Shah who had been a minister of Raj Bhimdeo. The temple is composed of gold and brass. He had been the Jain Tirthankaras first.

Neminath Temple
This temple is situated at Mount Abu in Rajasthan which is built in 1231 AD. Of similar architecture are Neminath Temple and the Adinath Temple design as that at Dilwara. The temple was constructed the Porwarl Jain community by the two brothers Tajpal and Vastupal. This is dedicated to Neminath who was Jain Tirthankar of twenty second. Neminath as seen its friezes, sculpted porticos, carvings and pillars is a fine example of workmanship.

Adhar Devi Temple
The Adhar Devi temple is built on a rock cleaves which is situated at a distance of 3 km to the north of the city and has one to crouch under the rock to enter the temple. This temple as one of the Mount Abu’s important pilgrimage sites which is dedicated to goddess Durga is regarding.

Gomukh Temple
It is located Mount Abu’s southwest around 8 km and is said that the temple was built on the spot where performed the saint Vashishth a yagna to create clans of four major rajput. From the mouth of a marble cow a small stream flows down on the Mount Abu’s road side providing the shrine its name. Nandi, Shiva’s vehicle there is also a marble figure. “Mouth of a cow” is the literally meaning of the Gomukh Temple. You will find Lord Krishna, Nandi, Saint Vashishtha and Lord Ram statues nearby the temple.

Shri Raghunathji Temple
In Mount Abu, this temple is located on the Nakki Lake’s Shore. Shri Raghunathji Temple is constructed way back in 14th century by a scholarly protagonist of Hindu, Shri Ramanand. Luna Vashi Temple

Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary
This Sanctuary is established in 1960 which covers a large expanse of the Mount Abu region of hill and forests of about 290 sq km. Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at north eastern side. Gurur Shikhar is the highest peak in the mountain ranges of Aravalli which is situated in the region of the Sanctuary. Mount Abu is home to a rich variety of wildlife and the sanctuary covers a huge area which is located across the oldest hill range in the country. It is also makes for an excellent destination for bird watchers with the presence of over 250 avian species. The house of sanctuary mongoose, wild boars, leopards, hedgehogs, Indian civets, porcupines, jungle cats, wild boars, pangolins, wolves, common langurs, Indian hares and sambhar home to a number of rare and endangered species of animals.

Guru Shikhar
The highest mountain peak of Mount Abu is Guru Shikhar which is located at an altitude of about 1,722 meters above the sea level. The trek of adventure can take the tourist to the peaks top. Surrounding sylvan region one can get panoramic view of eye catching. The serene environments and cool climate, a much sought place for seclusion, make the peak. You will find a temple is dedicated to Dattatreya right before you reach the peak who is believed to be the son that was given to the sage Atri and Anasuya a wife of Dattatreya by the holy trinity, Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. By Road: NH 14 is the nearest highway from Mount Abu which is well connected by road with major cities of the country.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Abu Road from the main city it is just 28 km which is well linked to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, New Delhi and Jaipur by rail routes. You can opt transport service or taxis on both private and sharing basis from Mount Abu Road.
By Air: Udaipur is the nearest Airport at a 185 km distance but Ahmedabad is having daily flights and better connectivity with other parts of the country. Local taxis are available from Ahmedabad and Udaipur for Mount Abu.
